That’s it! Spring is coming, the days are getting longer and the sun is starting to warm us up again! It makes you want to clean up and get rid of the useless things that we may have accumulated during the winter! Well, did you know that the big household is as necessary inside oneself as at home? 3-2-1…DETOX!
did you know that the big household is as necessary inside oneself as at home?
Yes, as at home we accumulate dust, in ourselves, but hey, here we would rather call it toxins. And they accumulate in two different ways. Internal, via stress and emotions. And external, with the pollution of air, water and our food, due to pesticides, preservatives, dyes, medicines …
Then it’s time to take out your trash! But, as much as the dirt is visible in his house and the exit door is easy to find, it is not as simple with his own internal system.
At least one piece of good news, our system is already part of the household. Toxins are scanned to each exit door. The problem is that our exit doors are often crowded and therefore the garbage accumulates. This is where our system needs a little detox boost.
The question you can ask yourself then is: but where are our exit doors?
Well, we have 5. They are called the emunctory organs which are the skin, liver, kidneys, intestines and lungs.

Each emunctory organ has its small preference in terms of plants that can help them evacuate.
The liver
The liver is very fond of artichoke, black radish, rosemary and turmeric in particular. Because artichoke, black radish and rosemary strengthen the function of the liver and gallbladder by stimulating the production of bile. This purifies and protects the liver by ridding it, via bile, of possible toxins. As for turmeric, it protects the liver thanks to its formidable antioxidant effect.
Detox’in Bio from the Form’ Vital range contains artichoke, black radish and lemon essential oil. A box allows you to make a cure of 10 to 20 days.

Kidneys
The kidneys are fond of diuretic plants because these plants stimulate kidney function and induce an increase in urine. Cherry tail, work leaf, dandelion and green tea for example are diuretic plants.
The Form’ Vital drainer burner activates the removal of the kidneys thanks to the fennel, artichoke and cherry tail present in the drink. Guarana, green tea and mate also burn fat.
The intestines
The intestines themselves are more fans of marshmallow, or rhubarb and coriander. Since marshmallow contains pectin, a form of carbohydrate of plant origin, it promotes intestinal transit. Rhubarb, on the other hand, helps in the proper functioning of intestinal transit, and coriander helps to get rid of intestinal gases.
The “Transit” Form’ Vital formula, a case of 60 capsules, contains rhubarb, marshmallow, artichoke, coriander and blond psyllium for optimal comfort.

The skin
Finally the skin prefers burdock root, dioetic nettle leaf or wild thought among others. Because these plants fight acne problems. For example, burdock root contains substances that exert a stimulating, purifying, sweaty and regulatory action of the sebaceous glands. By activating sweating, they purify the body, promoting the elimination of toxins, organic waste.
What are the signs that tell me that my body needs to be detoxified? :
- Lack of energy, decrease in vitality: Especially at the end of winter. Because during the holidays, the more hearty dishes consumed during the winter overload the emunctories with toxins.
- Decreased immune defenses: Small colds and other cold winter are signs of weakening. Especially in case of taking antibiotics, the emunctory organs, the liver especially is even more solicited.
- Weakened, blurred skin, appearance of pimples, especially in the neck and on the temples.
- Dull hair and brittle nails.
- Problems with digestion and intestinal transit, bloating.
- Poor quality sleep.
The ideal is to do at least 2 detox cures per year. The first in spring and the second in autumn, at changes of season. Thus freed from its toxins, the body will have more energy to adapt to changes in the weather.
And how can I help my body on a daily basis?
Food:
Eating well helps prevent our body from accumulating too many toxins. For this, as mentioned on the food pyramid, it is better to consume well and regularly:
- Water of course with at least 1.5 liters to consume per day. Always have a small bottle with you to avoid long time spaces without hydration. In the bag, in the car, in the office, in the sport, in appointments… Water is not only consumed during meals.
- Fresh fruit: Strawberries, cherries, grapes, lemon (green and yellow) and small red fruits (blueberries, raspberries and blackberries). And yes, they don’t just taste good. They are also very good for health. At breakfast with a porridge or yogurt and a small drizzle of honey for example, hmmmm!
- Greens and crucifers: Cabbages, broccoli, artichokes, leeks, pumpkin beans, spinach, carrots… Often mixed in a good little soup in the winter, easy to prepare, it warms up and it’s full of vitamins.
- Whole grains and legumes: quinoa, rice, bulgur, corn oats… and peas, lentils, soybeans…)
- Herbal teas and oilseeds, rich in essential fatty acids: almonds, hazelnuts, nuts, pine nuts…

Sport:
Really? Yes I know it doesn’t surprise you. But yes we can never repeat it enough, a regular and gentle physical activity helps to eliminate in addition to let off steam and relieve stress. And remember to breathe! Oxygen is the first form of feeding and elimination of our body. It is so obvious that it is often forgotten. Meditation, conscious breathing and yoga for example are good exercises.
Sweating:
If it is not via sport, a short tour of the sauna and steam room will eliminate toxins through the pores through sweating. The small ritual of the sauna and hammam/turkish bath for a detox skin:
- At least 8 minutes to bask in the warmth. We sweat and open the pores.
- We go out to rinse, clean the toxins rejected by the body.
- A small passage to the cold bath to close the pores and strengthen its immunity.
Avoid:
Tobacco, fumes, medicines, coffee, alcohol, refined sugars, saturated fats (red meat, cold cuts) and additives…
So here it is to summarize, I clean up in my 5 emunctory organs (the skin, the liver, the kidneys, the intestines and the lungs). Several detox plants and a good diet can help me clean my emunctories, as well as sports and sweating. Finally I listen to my body which tells me if it needs a big cleaning. The ideal is to do at least 2 detox cures per year to the changes of season between winter and summer.
